Danielle O’Beirne, Founder
Danielle O’Beirne was one of the early joiners in the cannabis industry, playing a vital (leadership) role on the Shoppers Drug Mart cannabis strategy team starting in 2016 where she was responsible for Health Canada licensing and cannabis procurement initiatives for the enterprise. Since then, she has worked with over 30 cannabis companies, ranging from smaller, family run businesses to a fortune 500 company. A few examples of companies she has worked with is BZAM/ TGOD, Auxly and Feather Company. She is also a member of the Cannabis Health Product Coalition, a group working with Health Canada to ensure that health products made with cannabis (e.g. CBD) are allowed to be produced and sold in Canada

Danielle has been invited as a guest lecturer to Universities and Colleges including Ryerson, Western and Fanshaw, covering topics related to cannabis and healthcare strategy.  She has spoken at several conferences on advisory panels and nominated for industry awards, such as the “women in weed” award. Danielle is often asked by other industry leaders and government team leaders for advice on how to improve industry dynamics and requirements such as licensing requirements and product call processes.

Education:  Danielle holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business as well as a BHSc (Bachelor of Health Sciences) from the University of Western Ontario.

Non-cannabis operating and consulting experience: Prior to entering the cannabis industry Danielle gained extensive experience launching new healthcare services to both patients and caregivers and expanded pharmaceutical marketing experience from her time at GlaxoSmithKline where she worked on several blockbuster drugs in the respiratory portfolio.

Danielle is a board member of Ontario Equestrian. Ontario Equestrian has provided support, education and governance for equestrian sport for over 40 years. As the recognized Provincial Sport Organization for Equestrian in the province, Ontario which has over 22,000 members.
